Five Great Ways to Enjoy Spring
Make Spring in the Mountains Your Favorite Time
Keystone Resort’s A51 Terrain Park, Spring 2022
1. Spring Skiing and Snowboarding (of course)
What most of the country considers spring, we consider great weather to ski and snowboard! College spring breakers visit throughout the month of March, but Summit’s ski resorts keep going!
Keystone stays open until mid-April, Copper stays open three weeks into April, and Breckenridge and Arapahoe Basin go strong through May and beyond! Enjoy live music and The Beach tailgating zone at A-Basin, or pair a German beer with a hot soft pretzel at the new Steilhang Hut, located mid-Mountain.
Always check the weather before you go out in the spring. Cozy 70-degree days give way to double-digit snow storms with little notice. Both are equally fantastic but the temperature can fluctuate wildly. Closing weekends at every resort are a blast, featuring music, pond skim events, and great snow.

2. Head for the bike trails.
The resorts will reopen for downhill biking in June, but until then, there are plenty of ways to get into biking shape. There are miles of paved trails that are cleared by public works for everyone’s benefit. So rent an E-bike for a gentle cruise, or a trail bike for a challenge. Make sure you check the weather, a spring storm can turn a sunny day into a winter blizzard in minutes.

Take in the views around the county, stop to check out the wildflowers, and enjoy the spring sun. Make sure you visit one of the local shops for a tune if you have your own bike, you’ll find seasoned pros to help you up your biking game. Ridden. even offers a bike tour of local breweries in Breckenridge, complete with bikes, helmets, tastings, and a ride back.
3. Visit Summit’s Breweries and Distilleries
Spring is a great time to check out breweries and distilleries around the county. Take advantage of lighter crowds to tour operations, and find out how altitude, mountain air, and snow melt come together in innovative new ways to concoct booze. Test new seasonal releases and enjoy specials designed to get the locals to come out.

Crazy spring weather conditions can’t put a damper on this fun; although the breweries and distilleries sport some of the best outdoor decks in the county, they’re just as much fun on the inside. Watch brewers and distillers practice their craft, learn how to do it yourself, and then take home some expertly crafted small batch hootch.
4. Check out a theatre production or movie.
Most spring days are awesome, but some are just blustery. Sometimes the winter weather comes back with a vengeance, and sometimes you just feel like being inside. Lake Dillon Theatre Company is available with a wide variety of shows for all ages. Breckenridge Backstage Theatre also offers spring productions.
For movies, Skyline Cinema 8 has all the new movies with a variety of showtimes. In Breckenridge, The Eclipse Theatre shows blockbuster, indie, classics, foreign and outdoor films at matinee and evening showtimes in a cool restored theatre..

Pool, bowling, and cocktails make a great evening.
5. Time to go Shopping.
Spring is the best time for shopping in Summit. Shops are clearing out winter gear so you can stock up for next season at the lowest possible prices. Even the rental fleet goes as shops switch to their summer looks, so you can even score skis and snowboard decks at clearance deals. The Outlets at Silverthorne stockpile clearance deals from their stores.
Don’t miss the smaller shops in Breckenridge and Frisco either. A change in seasons and smaller crowds means finding perfect gifts and great deals is easier than ever.
