Dillon Lake provides plenty of room for a plethora of winter activities, with more than 5 square miles of surface area. One of those unique family activities is ice fishing, fun for seasoned anglers and folks new to fishing.

There are a few companies offering full-day or half-day ice fishing trips near Breckenridge and Dillon. Experienced guides can help get everything set up safely so you just have fun in the lake sun.
Outings are available leaving from either the Dillon or Frisco side of the vast lake, and the fishing happens at over 9,000 feet with breathtaking views of Frisco and Dillon. The lake is home to brown and rainbow trout, kokanee salmon, arctic char, and smallmouth bass.

Trips are usually available from the third week in November through the middle of April. Warming huts include heaters, gear, tackle, bait, and ice fishing sonars, and guided tours can take guests to several different access points in a day to improve the chance of bringing home fish.

Fishing licenses may be purchased online through Colorado Parks and Wildlife, or you can get one in person from the local authorized fishing license retailers listed below. Please check fishing laws and regulations that apply to the place you plan to fish before heading out.
